Morning Star Poetry

Light Shall Shine Out of Darkness!

Marks of Love

See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.

Isaiah 49:16a

Our names inscribed on His pierced hands,
Christ died to make a way.
His precious blood our only plea,
Tomorrow and today.

His marks of passion show His love,
With proof from history.
Our living God, today He reins,
Not just a memory.

It is finished, our debts are paid,
let go of sin He bore.
Come see the place where our Lord lay,
He’s risen evermore!

There is no life except in Christ,
a new and living way.
To put our thoughts on things above,
we honor Him today.

The blood of Jesus washed us clean,
and made us white as snow.
Eternal life with God above –
What price?  We’ll never know.

Awaiting all who come to Him,
and turn away from sin,
This revolution for the soul,
renews us from within.

Raised to glory, our Savior lives
and heaven’s song resounds.
No greater love than at the cross,
where His rich grace abounds.

  1. Hi Scotti! Inspiring. “No greater love than at the cross,
where His rich grace abounds.” — I was touched by your conviction. Indeed Jesus has risen — we’re redeemed and reconciled. Thank you for reciprocating and I shall return for more…What a powerful living testimony!

  2. He is risen indeed and forever we will speak of His wonderful provision for us.
    Beautiful poem, worshipful, wonderful.
Thank you for your encouraging words.
    God bless,Vince.

  3. Hi Scotti,

Truly there is no love more amazing than the love that Jesus displayed on Calvary. My sister recently had a quote on her blog that I really liked.

“Calvary reveals man’s hatred for God and God’s love for man.

While we do see man’s hatred displayed, thank God that He still goes on loving and reaching after man. That is true love! Thank you for another great poem.

    Blessings,

    Carol

  4. I am blessed every time I come here Scotti. Your gift for expressing Gods bountiful love and grace always touches my heart. The music is the perfect accompaniment for this poem.

The precious blood wherein is Life
    Still flows from Jesus hand
cleansing all who come to Him
    from each and every land
It heals, restores, makes new again
    this fount from heavens Lamb
His life for ours, upon the cross
    Oh blessed great I Am
    You suffered undeservedly
and bore the sin of man,
That we might live forever more
    kept safe within Your hand

Thank you for you prayers Scotti and for sharing the gift of Gods grace within you, with all of us. May His peace be yours today and always!

    Susan

  6. Greetings. The love that God has for us is so vast that even a lifetime of continual revelation would merely touch the surface. That he would step out of eternity, taking on a body of flesh, and pay for the sins of a world that wasn’t even looking for him. “Marks of Love” is a very fitting title for this poem.

Have a blessed weekend in Jesus.

  9. I was singing “Only one King” at the top of my lungs on the way home tonight from work, and all I could think about was putting the words to one of your poems to music. This one is powerful, but I will definitely have to read a few more before I make a decision. God Bless!
