His Perfect Sacrifice

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:5-7

There is none that is righteous, no… not one.
That you would take me – shows Your great mercy.
Death to the old! Renewed. Now I see…
The gift: Eternal life is in His son.

Putting you first, My Lord, thy will be done.
You’ve sent the Holy Spirit to guide me.
From the power of sin, I am set free.
Through Christ, I know salvation has been won.

Christ took our sins by death on the cross.
God of Love… I will glorify Thy name
You promised us life- – I come as I am
For on this day, I am no longer lost.

God of Life…I will never be the same.
My soul is saved by the Blood of The Lamb.

What does it mean to be righteous? As a 3rd grader in our Sunday school class said so succinctly…”it means to be right with God”. Our sin separates us from our Holy God.  So then how are we made right with God? By putting our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ…trusting in Him alone for our salvation. Not just a one time past confession but an ongoing, present faith in Christ. This poem is about His Perfect Sacrifice for us and is written in the form of an old English Sonnet.  May God Bless you today! 🙂

God’s Words to Ponder:

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10)
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” (1 John 5:11)

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

“You must know (recognize) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold, But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.”  (AMP) (1 Peter 1:18-19)
