Pure Heart

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

psalm 51:20

Create in me a heart that’s pure
With You alone I can endure
At times transfixed by others’ sin
Convict my heart to look within

You love me so, of this I’m sure
Create in me a heart that’s pure
Before I speak, You know my plea
Secure for all eternity

A greater love than ever dreamed
The riches of Your grace esteemed
Create in me a heart that’s pure
The blood of Jesus is my cure

Overtly wicked I am not
But deadly are the sins of thought
Protect my mind from satan’s lure

O God, help us to be like David today…..painfully aware of our sin and desperate for Your mercy. We praise you that with your forgiveness comes cleansing and redemption through your precious Son, Jesus. Amen!
