Light Shall Shine Out of Darkness!

Life

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

JOHN 5:34

Jesus,
our Redeemer,
bring us to repentance
that not one of us would perish.
Save us!

  1. 2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

It’s God’s will that everyone would come to repentance, for this is truly the first step in coming to Him. I like the way you made this into a prayer.

God’s best to you this holiday season,

    Carol

Hi Carol, Thanks you so much for adding this perfect verse to the poem. I just love God’s heart for His people. He gives us so many chances to come to Him but He knows that true love cannot be forced! I pray that we could all see His beauty and long to love Him for all He was and is and is to come! Amen. Blessings to you today and always. Scotti

  2. I really love your poetry. Not just the content, but the various forms in which you write. Did you study poetry formally?

Wow, thanks David! No, I have never studied poetry. I would like to, though! I really became inspired to write poetry after being born again and putting my faith in the Lord Jesus. Sometimes, I will just wake up with a rhyme in mind. Othertimes, I will be inspired by a particular topic and will seek out a new form of poetry in which to express the feeling. Because Jesus is my inspiration, I haven’t had the desire to write about other topcis. I typically go to ShadowPoetry.com to learn about different forms of poetry. For me, it is like the challenge of completing a puzzle, a difficult math problem or crossword…once I start one, I just can’t rest till I finish it! 🙂 I try not to compare the poems to the work of others because I would be far to critical and probably stop altogether. Your comments are always an encouragement to me. May the Lord bless you in all things. Scotti

  3. Scotti,

Thanks for visiting my blog and so glad you stumbled upon it. Wow, it’s so cool that someone you don’t even know can be touched by something you write and respond. Thank you for your kind words and I am so appreciative of the offer to remember me in prayer.

    One day at a time,
    John Ronald

Thanks for visiting, John. I will absolutely be keeping you in prayer. May the Lord be with you in all things. Scotti

  4. Oh, Amen, AMEN! I align my will and prayers with this–I long, oh, I long for others to believe, too!

Yes, Cami, it is the Lord’s will that all would come to repentence and turn to Him alone for salvation. I am studying the book of Isaiah right now and I am struck by how many warnings and opportunites that God gives His people to put Him in first place. He weeps for those that willfully decide not to make Him Lord of their lives. I pray for God’s mercy upon the nations and people of the world. Blessings, Scotti

  5. I’m kind of the same way with my music and art. I don’t necessarily “compare” myself to others, rather I try to understand what it is I like about what others do and what touches me. Then, I try to incorporate those techniques, styles, phrases, etc. in how I express myself. Does that make sense?
    Blessings, David.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I have enjoyed seeking out others who write poetry on wordpress. It is a good way to get new ideas. I knew you were into music…are there other forms of art that you like to express? I used to love to draw but haven’t in years. Blessings, Scotti

  6. Thank you for expressing your prayer for the lost through poetry. It is the Lord’s heart that they come to repentance.

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

    Blessings,
    Cathy

Thank you, Cathy. I have really enjoyed reading your posts. God Bless! Scotti

  7. I’ve always loved music and art. I love to draw and have dabbled in watercolor and acrylic. I’d love to spend more time learning to paint. I took a stained glass class a couple of years ago and was immediately hooked. I’m trying to stay away from “crafty” looking projects (if you get my drift). I do all of the cutting and soldering and my wife likes to help with the grinding and foiling. She’s has been bitten by the bug, too and we have fun with it. It would be nice to make my living doing what I love, but… Someday. 🙂
