My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26
To live content in Christ alone, my Joy,
all longings of the flesh cannot compare!
Domestic comforts are the devil’s ploy,
for death shall come to all just as a snare.
That I would look elsewhere, how can this be?
You gently blot out my depravity.
Repentance brings refreshing from above,
earth’s treasures are mere shadows of Your love!
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord

This poem talks about one of my biggest struggles. It’s something I have to be in constant prayer about. Thank God for His forgiveness.
Me too, Phyllis. Thanks for stopping by and may the peace of the Lord Jesus be with you in all things. Scotti
I’m glad that God is able to lead us to repentance in those times where we lose our focus and take our eyes off of Him. Have a wonder filled weekend.
Carol
Amen! Thanks, Carol. Blessings! Scotti
May Christ our longing ever be,
His holy touch desire fulfill,
all else we’ll soon no longer see,
But Jesus love will linger still
Eternal, Immortal, matchless is,
the Love of Jesus Christ our King!
Your blog is such a beautiful work of art Scotti, and an inspiration ( though I haven’t the skill as you )
Blessings to you always,
Susan
Thank you, Susan. Your words are simply beautiful! Our pastor sometimes says that compared to the Love of Jesus, everything else looks like hate. It’s a strong statement, but so much truth in it. His love is beyond compare! Love in Christ, Scotti
Greetings. To be totally content in Jesus. What peace, what joy unspeakable, what a foretaste of the world to come. When we get focused on Jesus and the age that will have no ending, it becomes quite difficult to get excited about the treasures of this world. Great poem and a great reminder to keep our focus on those things which are eternal.
Have a blessed evening in Jesus.

Amen, timbob. May we all fix our eyes upon Jesus. Blessings, Scotti
A lot like Paul was, I’ve been called out of a super religious background with an impressive “pedigree” in that respect, to minister to people who don’t fit…and basically, they don’t understand how wonderful it is to be abased in the right way…many of them have been abased in the wrong way, and think self-realization is the cure. But as you shared here, there is such beauty and freedom in the “shadow of His love”!
Hi Cami, isn’t it amazing how God meets us where we are (or where we are not, whatever the case may be!). Despite our religious backgrounds (or lack of one), God can heal us, save us, and include us in His plans! There can be such dichotomy in faith that it is hard for our logical minds to grasp. It is through submission to our Lord and Savior that we find freedom! It is through awe and reverent fear that we may boldly and confidently enter God’s throne room. It is through our weakness we are strong in the Lord. Thank you for your comments, Cami. May the Lord continue to work through you as you minister for His kingdom. Blessings, Scotti
Beautiful poem. I especially liked . . .
“Domestic comforts are the devil’s ploy,
for death shall come to all just as a snare.”
So true. My prayer is that the eyes of many would be opened to this truth, and that they would come to repentance before it is too late.
Oh that we could learn to be content in him regardless of what we see around us.
Blessings,
Cathy
Hello Cathy, thank you for visiting. I whole-heartedly agree with you and join you in prayer. God Bless! Scotti
It seems in my life that I have found contentment much more elusive when I am not spending enough time in prayer and in the Word. When I am in His word, reading about His love and in prayer experiencing a relationship with Him, contentment comes quicker and stays longer.
Beautiful as always, dear friend
