Love never fails, its Way is just
It is not proud and offers trust
Sweet charity, its mercy sought
Love hopes all things, forget this not
It does not boast, it does not lust
And yet rejoice in Truth it must
It envies not, remains robust
It is not rude and can’t be bought
Love never fails
It suffers long, it will not rust
It perseveres – won’t turn to dust
God’s Love in us brings on pure thought
It will not die, can’t be distraught
Love will protect – your heart entrust
Love never fails
Matthew 6:19-20 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
This poem is written as a Rondeau which is a French form of poetry. The Rondeau consists of 15 lines which make up three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet. This form of poetry has a specific rhyme scheme and metrical length.

Real love; not as the world views it, but the true concern for anothers well-being. Another memorable poem. The Lord has definately given you a gift. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day in Christ.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’ve been thinking about the love of God. How thankful I am for the love Jesus displayed on Calvary and how it reached out to one like me! Thanks for another great poem.
I feel like I am in Lit class. A shall attempt to remember what a Rondeau is and that I know someone who can write one! You are inspiring!
Being loving – as described – is a real challenge. It’s easy when the going is good, but it can be very very hard when the going is tough.
I love the verses you add.
God bless you!
A lovely poem Scotti, thanks for dropping by for a visit…you know I wrote a poem about the same verses; way back in 1989..when I read yours I remembered mine and just had to find it and re read it….Thanks for sharing yours…..and reminding me of mine..
The poem and the supporting verses are fantastic. Thanks for the info about Rondeau.
