Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Love never fails, its Way is just
It is not proud and offers trust
Sweet charity, its mercy sought
Love hopes all things, forget this not
It does not boast, it does not lust

This poem is written as a Rondeau which is a French form of poetry. The Rondeau consists of 15 lines which make up three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet. This form of poetry has a specific rhyme scheme and metrical length.
