Sentinel

I the Lord have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I will guard and support you, for I have given you to my people as the personal confirmation of my covenant with them. You shall also be a light to guide the nations unto me. – Isaiah 42:6

While drifting in utter starkness,
entrapped by the dense fog that blinds,
His sentinel pierced the darkness;
the Bright and Morning Star still shines.

He frees me from death’s cold shadow,
to a place the Spirit refines,
His mercy He longs to bestow;
the Bright and Morning Star still shines.

A beacon to the lost at sea,
His true light precisely defines,
the clearest path to liberty;
the Bright and Morning Star still shines!

His Word is a lamp to my feet,
penetrating the murky lines,
and dissolving all vain conceit;
the Bright and Morning Star still shines.

Christ is the light to all nations,
towering above our confines,
built on eternal foundations;
the Bright and Morning Star still shines!
