For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? – Mark 8:36-37
Do the pleasures of a season,
which entice me to run its’ race
and set my faith behind reason,
outweigh eternal peace and grace?
Does death so desire to take,
the great treasures I can’t replace?
Will all the wealth and life I make,
outweigh eternal peace and grace?
I focus on the here and now
intent to carry on the chase,
but do the riches I avow,
outweigh eternal peace and grace?
Do the pleasures of a season,
outweigh eternal peace and grace?

These are good questions to ask.

We are living longer and hoping to hold on to everything or at least touch it all once. I like the repeating phrasing, it works very well 👏
