We are confident, then, and would much prefer to leave our home in the body and come to our home with the Lord. – 2 Corinthians 5:8
Vertigo overtakes me at twilight as my spirit travels upwards in a starburst tunnel. Traveling faster than the speed of light, I feel weightless and free, like a child riding a roller coaster for the first time. The interstellar blackness swirls quickly around me as I shoot towards the heavens. Speeding toward another sphere full of wonder and beauty, fear alludes me.
My natural mind knows my body is motionless in bed as my soul flies through an indescribable maelstrom of stars. Anticipation takes over as I imagine this new world where I will be at perfect peace in the presence of Father God, the divine source of all. I am being mysteriously translated in the spirit to a dimension of unmatched luster and indescribable sights and sounds where nothing will tarnish, fade, or die.
The star tunnel through which I travel bends through space and time, transporting me to a different cosmological realm. My destination is an eternal home full of lush gardens, crystal rivers, the tree of life with healing fruits, and continual light from the Glory of God. It is a supernatural place prepared for you and me to soak in God's love 24/7.
Almost home, I sense that I have an escort. I look to my right, and there is a brilliant being beside me in his own vortex gateway. He tells me not to break the portal’s boundary, but I can’t resist and reach out to touch the arm of Jesus. In an instant, the trip ended, and I abruptly fell back into my physical body. I wanted to continue the journey, but my time has not yet come.
With one foot on earth,
and one entering heaven,
I long to be home.
