Morning Star Poetry

Light Shall Shine Out of Darkness!

Starving Hearts

Oh my God, I cry by day, but You do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.

Psalm 22:2
Many are sinking in silence.
Locked up in regret?
Bound to shame?

Their hearts are starved to nothing.
Prisoners to pain?
Chained to grief?

Some are sitting in darkness.
Crushed by misery?
Slaves to death?

El Shama, the God who hears.
Do You hear their cries?
El Shama?

Oh Lord, King of Righteousness!
Will You dry their tears?
Adonai?

Poetry type: Quinzaine

Listen to this beautiful song called Prayer by David Louth.

  1. Scotti, this was me a few years ago. I won’t get into it here, but …

I can send you a link to the song I wrote that was a prayer I cried to God during that time if you’re interested.
