Morning Star Poetry

Light Shall Shine Out of Darkness!

Stand Firm

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Ephesians 6:12-15

Still standing,
Still standing strong.
Though the enemy will shake us,
He cannot silence our song.
Still standing,
Still standing strong.
The storms still come,
the seas are rough,
Keep holding course,
it won’t be long.
Still standing,
Still standing strong.
And
when all is said and done
Stand.

  1. So true. When I was going through a difficult time, the Lord kept showing me over and over again that Nothing could take away my salvation and security in Him. What a reassurance.

    • Hi Sylvia, I am not sure why I never replied to your comment here. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.

I have felt the same way and kept coming back to this scripture:

John 10:28-30 “And I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

My former pastor said once that the “no one” in this verse includes me!

  2. Nice poem. Thanks be to Him who is able to keep us from falling, as long as we continue to look to Him. Hope you and your family had a great 4th of July.

  3. A simple poem with a wonderful message. I like the strong rhymes. It is always refreshing to read your work.

    • Thank you! Trying to step out of my box once in a while and just write the words as they come to my mind rather than follow a particular poetry form.
