Seek the LORD your God and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 4:29
Resting in God’s veracity,
assent to the Truth is most key,
all our being longs to extol –
faith opens the door of the soul.
We can know beyond cognition,
believe by our own volition,
that His breath of Life makes us whole –
faith opens the door of the soul.
Some turn from His waiting embrace;
God still finds a reason for grace,
and His Spirit seeks to console –
faith opens the door of the soul.
Resting in God’s veracity –
faith opens the door of the soul.
“All are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is provided in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith.” Romans 3:24-25 (AMP)

you always, without fail, inspire me. every… single… time…
this poetry will live on through the hearts of your readers.
Hi Cindy,
I am sincerely humbled by your generous words. This poem was inspired by an on line commentary I read by Matthew Henry about faith in which he references the door of the soul. Unfortunately, I can’t find the site any longer or I would link to it in this post.
I also read a wonderful definition of faith from the Bible Dictionary which speaks about the assent to truth and faith resting on the veracity (trustworthiness, integrity, truthfullness) of God Himself. I love the thought!
Here is link to the definition…well worth the read: http://www.bible-dictionary.org/faith
Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback.

So many adverbs which describe our faith in action – resting, assent, opens. Wonderful words to use. Such positive words to describe our faith and God’s reaction to us. Dear Scotti, thank you once again. God Bless.
Hi Sylvia,
Praise God that even if our faith fails us, He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself!! (2 Timothy 2:13)
May God’s peace Love be with you always,
Scotti

Strange, but true. We can make a decision to follow God, to believe Him when our mind screams something else. This was good.
Yes, Solveig, so true! I have heard it said before that it is a long 18 inches from the head to the heart! God promises that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that He was raised from the dead, we will have eternal life with God. (Romans 10:9-10) I do often pray that God will help my mind and heart agree because so often is the case that one is not in sync with the other! 🙂
God Bless!

Good morning. Hebrews 11:6 came to mind while reading this. Truly God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Blessings always in Jesus name.

Hi timbob,
A wonderful scripture reference indeed!
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
Amen and Amen!
“Seek the LORD your God and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” What a great promise from God, a great reason to keep seeking, to keep knocking, to keep believing…..He reveals Himself to those who are His and have found for they have sought. Thanks Scotti!!
God Bless you.
Amen, Mwiya! So good to hear from you. I know you have some wonderul new posts that are always an encouragement to me. I hope to stop by soon!
God Bless,
