Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:9-11
Procuring our peace through His pain,
Christ paid the ultimate price.
It is finished, it is done,
so patient in His sacrifice.
Pausing to fold His grave clothes,
His perfect forbearance won,
so patient in His sacrifice,
it is finished, it is done.
Wearing now garments of glory,
He knew His blood would suffice,
it is finished, it is done,
so patient in His sacrifice.
Conquering death, once and for all
He proved to be God’s only Son.
So patient in His sacrifice,
it is finished, it is done.
Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever. Hebrews 7:25-28

As Christians we really do have an impressive array of resources to rely on. Wherever we are in our daily walk, whether flowing in the spirit, struggling a little (or even a lot) it’s always the same glory made available. But you are so right. If only we could silence the flesh once and for all, our walk would be so much smoother. When we fall unawares into the trap there’s always the cross and what a powerful lever this is, releasing the glory from on high in Jesus’ name.
Amen, Steve. Good to hear from you!
Beautiful poem, Scotti. I’ve heard it said that the 3 most important words that Jesus ever spoke are It Is Finished. There’s a lot of truth in that. How could I ever thank Jesus enough for what He endured on Calvary? It will take all of eternity!
Good Morning, Carol! Yes indeed it will take all of eternity.
Love and Peace,
Scotti
I’m speechless… beautiful.
God Bless you always, Cindy.
First time to your sight!! What a wonderful poem and what a tremendous gift.

Good afternoon. This is so incredible that no words of mine can adequately reflect. As Rachel observed above, you are very gifted.
Thanks for the reflection.
Blessings always in Jesus name.

Awesome Scotti!
Oh the magnitude of His death!
Bless you’
and thank you
Richard
Hi Richard, I had been thinking on the fact that after his resurrection, Jesus folded the cloth that wrapped around his face during burial. There has been specualation over the years that this was a symbol for his people in accordance with Jewish customs during the passover meal. I am not sure about all that but to me it does point out that Jesus was in no rush for vindication at all. His retraint and endurance is incomprehensible. Also, this is proof that his body could not have been stolen from the tomb as many have said throughout history. How many grave robbers would stop to remove and fold grave clothes? Thanks for your comments.
God Bless,
Scotti

Wow. It is done, it is finished..it is complete. Like Isaiah said he was satisfied with the work he accomplished and it has and is prospering in His hands. Thanks for this Scotti, indeed it is finished.
Thank you for this comment, Mwiya! I have been missing your thoughtful facebook and twitter updates. Just means I will need to visit your blog more often! Hope you are well.
I went to find the scripture you mention and here it is (I believe) in the NLT.
Isaiah 53:11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.
Amazing stuff. The wonders never cease! GBY
Hi Scotti,
Im well thanks, Yea that was the passage i was talking about actually. Hopefully I will now be able to write more for my blog lol. Was just reading Matthew 17-18 today, amazing how The Lord Jesus was so focused on His mission. His zeal to Glorify the Father is so amazing. It amazes me that He did it all for the Father and all for us though we don’t deserve it….for His name’s sake he saved. He is true to his word as He said of himself:
“YHWH, YHWH, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.”
John 17 pretty much is a sneak peek into Jesus zeal to glorify His Dad! And its amazing his sacrifice. His Zeal to glorify His Dad and His own Name that they share. Like you say, he was so patient in his sacrifice, it wasn’t easy….he put on flesh to make it hard….and still he conquered. Wow!
