This is the crisis we’re in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won’t come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is.
John 3:19-21 (The Message)
It is possible to find peace serene
Where mind and soul merge in lucid delight.
Why do some view Truth as a blinding light
And harden their hearts to a faith unseen?
Suffocated by the day’s rhetoric,
A proud man has no need for God’s embrace.
Unwilling to breath in God’s saving grace
Or be smothered in God’s love euphoric.
Exemption from obligation is sought,
When the soul’s insight is clouded by sin.
All but choking faith and reason within
Asphyxiated by postmodern thought.
Seeking wisdom cannot be set aside,
Still more is found when faith is not denied.

Thats Deep as well springs…..who can search the unsearchable wisdom of God….if we are to swim in the wisdom of God its the only time drowning is a good thing…
🙂
Beautiful sonnet, Scotti. Finding the peace of the Lord is sometimes difficult for those who DO desire to please God.
So many times we let our “human-ness” overpower that desire and we give in to sin. I am thankful the God lets us come back to him when we stray and that Jesus made sure of that on the cross!
David.
People4people,
Thank you for stopping by and for your comments. It is amazing to me that God tells us that if we need wisdom – to ask for it!
Blessings,
Scotti
Hi David,
So nice to hear from you. I have been missing your thoughtful blog updates. You make such a good point and this is something all of us struggle with daily. God is so faithful! If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness!

These words from Isaiah are some of my favourites!
It amazes me that our Creator, Lord of the Universe should want to reason with us! Amazing grace and love!
God bless you,
Jonie
Beautiful poem, Scotti. I pray my faith will never be asphyxiated by modern day thought. I want to stand firm upon the Rock!
