Morning Star Poetry

Light Shall Shine Out of Darkness!

Unchanging

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

YESTERDAY –
I felt like letting go
and I considered
turning back
to my old self.
It seemed
You had left me,
wallowing
in my pride.
And I was caught up
in a lie
I almost believed.

TODAY-
I surrender
my struggles to You.
I repent for relying
on my own strength
and for listening
to that deceitful voice.
I am sorry for doubting
Your faithful promises.
My heart is strengthened
by Your grace.
And I am humbled
that You would
take me back
AGAIN.

TOMORROW-
I will cling
ever tighter
to Your Word,
I will not be afraid
for You are my helper,
And You are with me
ALWAYS,
even until
the end
of the age.
I will praise You
with my last breath.

FOREVER
You are unchanging
in Your mercy,
in Your divine power,
in Your righteousness
in Your love.
Your years
will not come
to an end.

Isaiah 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.

  1. Thank God He is there through our struggles and that He understands our weaknesses. As long as we cling to Him, He will keep us. Thanks for another great poem!

  2. This is one of my favorites so far—it is almost as if you are in my heart chronicling my journey. Blessings to you!

  3. Ah, Scotti, how lovely this is, and so true for each one of us. My favorite thought is that God is the only One in the future. Not even the enemy is there; he is a created being as we are. Only God–the future, therefore, is the most hopeful place of all! I am sooooo thankful for His mercy and care! God bless you!

  4. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem. I pray the Lord Jesus is near to your heart and that you are well. He is faithful in our darkest valleys as well as on the mountaintop, He really truly is.
    Be blessed Scotti!

  5. Scotti, you definitely have a gift! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog and I hope that you allow me to share your gift with others here in Sacramento. God Bless.
