Praise the Lord, the God of Israel! He has come to save his people. Our God has given us a mighty Savior from the family of David. – Luke 1:68-69
Sentimentally
unwrapping the set
while holding my breath,
I’m relieved to see
they are all intact,
surviving decades.
Precious figurines
old and delicate
meticulously
formed and hand-painted
with a golden trim
and bright scarlet lips.
Arranging just so,
I place the infant
in the center scene
his crèche surrounded
by farm animals
and the faithful few.
The Nativity
reminds me again
that God is with us.
From the first noel,
our Yahweh redeems
bringing hope for all.

A lovely image of the nativety scene and traditions.
