So Yeshua said to the Judeans who had trusted him, “If you obey what I say, then you are really my disciples, you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:31-32
Embodiment of all reality,
I sought to verify the purest source.
A maxim found in all validity,
God met my search with divine grace and force.
Proved by unshaken love in heaven’s courts,
clear facts revealed despite false illusion.
My faith and reason live without divorce.
God is the answer, He's the conclusion.
With unwrapped and sincere veracity,
God’s universal truth has set me free.

Alétheia takes a structured, theologically anchored approach to the prompt, using the decuain form – a ten-line poem with ten syllables per line – to reflect on the nature of divine truth. I liked the use of a lesser known form to address the prompt. Drawing from John 8:31–32, your poem explores how faith, reason, and revelation converge in the speaker’s pursuit of alétheia – a Greek term for truth and disclosure that carries deep philosophical and spiritual weight. I’m familiar with it from reading Aristotle. The delayed arrival of the abstract noun aligns well with the prompt, but it’s not simply withheld; it’s gradually built through logic, scripture, and personal conviction.
The language is elevated and sincere, with lines like “My faith and reason live without divorce” offering a thoughtful blend of belief and intellect. The poem’s tone is declarative, affirming the harmony between the narrator’s search and a higher truth. I think it might benefit from the inclusion of a more grounded or sensorial image to balance the abstraction, especially early on – but the clarity of voice and purpose gives it strength. For readers who connect with faith-based poetry or classical structure, this is a polished and confident piece.
