For you see that the winter has passed, the rain is finished and gone, the flowers are appearing in the countryside, the time has come for the birds to sing, and the cooing of doves can be heard in the land. – Song of Solomon 2:11-12
Wildflowers in the field
where dried weeds once stood,
fill the air with new life and a hopeful earth.
The birds form a choir
singing of rebirth.
Violet lilacs smile
with perfumed laurels
resurrecting joy and youthful elegance,
as the butterflies glide
and the sunflowers dance.
Robed in every color,
bright blossoms spring up.
God’s grace falls like spring showers on reborn grass.
The cooing doves tell us
that winter has passed.
