Like the Dawn

Light is sown [like seed] for the righteous and illuminates their path, and [irrepressible] joy [is spread] for the upright in heart [who delight in His favor and protection]. – Psalm 97:11

I bask in His light
through the deep dark night
until my hardened heart sings.

With patience and care
He hears my prayer
and pours out peace in wellsprings.

From God’s risen Son
Comes the noonday sun
illuminating The Way.

Like the breaking dawn
which is heaven drawn
bursting in for a new day.

At first like a seed
sprouting up and freed
blazing bright before my eyes.

Love and joy spring up
and He fills my cup
with a beautiful sunrise.
